Disability Support Services

Disability Support Services exist to ensure that all students have the opportunity to learn to their fullest abilities. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made to ensure access to academic programs and services in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

College program and facilities are designed to be accessible to students with disabilities. Each campus has designated parking and special restrooms for these students. If you have a documented disability and you need assistance on the placement assessment, you must provide proper documentation prior to the assessment.

Disability Services Checklist:

  1. Obtain proper documentation of your disability (must be on letterhead and signed by the appropriate doctor). Documentation must include: date, student’s name, and specific diagnosis of disability that is no older than five years.
  2. Contact the Student Success Center to schedule an appointment, discuss accommodation needs, and to obtain Instructor Notification Forms (INF).
  3. Every effort will be made to provide accommodations in a timely manner, therefore it is your responsibility to contact the Disability Services Coordinator before the semester begins to ensure timely implementation of your accommodations.
